UNDERSETTING – A SALT DAMP REPAIR SOLUTION
This technique has the advantage of combining the removal of salt affected masonry with the insertion of a new DPC (Damp Proof Course).
In Undersetting, sections of the base of a wall are removed down to the footing and progressively replaced with new materials. Small sections of brick or stonework are removed, (including any decaying material) leaving pillars to support the wall structure.
A plastic membrane is inserted between the bricks and fresh mortar is applied.
We do the work in small sections, to avoid dangerous structural conditions.
